“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Frequently we expect our life to be much easier than how Jesus’ life was. I always joke with those first coming into the faith by explaining that having an “easy life” is the great deception of Christianity! In scripture, it warns us that in the same ways He was treated, we too should expect to be treated by this world. If we are given blessings that in any way make our lives a little bit better, then we should consider them as a BONUS, but certainly not the expectation of such.
In this world, you will have tribulation, but in Christ, you have peace. In other words, if we have Christ, we have everything we need, because He has overcome all of it.
Our time here on Earth is brief, then we have all of eternity with Him. So live each day to its fullest, without sorrow or unnecessary worries, because the next day will have come and gone as quickly as it arrived. Enjoy the gift God has given you, yet use it wisely.
