Oh those atheists, always trying to stir up trouble.
Now, there is a lawsuit attempting to get the U.S. government to remove the words “In God We Trust” from all American currency. At first, I was a little annoyed given that this story is getting attention and just fueling the fire in our country’s already unstable political climate.
But then I read some encouraging words from a random Facebook user—Aaron Phillips, to be exact. He wrote…
At first, I was tempted to write something about how offensive this is, and how our country was founded on Christian beliefs, but after giving it a few seconds of thought, God is still God, regardless of whether his name is on the Dollar. Our Country doesn’t have to be “Christian” for me to be Christian. In fact, regardless of what we put on our currency, I still have doubts that our country IS a Christian nation. Our Government clearly doesn’t act like it, and with lawsuits like this, our citizens clearly don’t act like it. So, I raise the question: Do you need God on your dollar to believe that God sent his Son to die on a cross for you?
Wow! Well said Aaron. This puts things in a much better perspective. God bless you.
